About Jeremy
Being the sole proprietor of Jeremy Glyn Photography, I am a full time, extensively published, professional photographer based in the greater Johannesburg area, where I was born and bred. I specialise in Corporate, Event, Social and Industrial photography with a strong leaning towards Public Relations, Media photography in general and specifically Portraiture.
My interest in photography began when, in 1984, my grandfather gifted me a 12 exposure roll of film and his vintage Kodak Retina IIIC. Consequently I have continually involved myself in photography for more than 3 decades. While at school I joined the Johannesburg based St John's College's Photography Club and shot extensively for its school magazine. During this period I attended evening photographic courses at Phototeach hosted by Struan Robertson, Michael Goldblatt, Peter Magubane and many others.
After Matriculating at Damelin College in 1987, I studied for my three year National Diploma in Photography (NDP3) at the Technicon Pretoria and, in 1990, was awarded Student of the Year by the South African Institute of Photographers for my A$ndash;graded thesis and portfolio, specialising in Corporate Environmental Portraiture.
After a short internship with Style Magazine, I worked for well over 20 years as a freelance photographer for the Financial Mail (and also for The Sunday Times and Business Times) concentrating on their surveys, supplements and periodicals. Over this time I have gathered a large client base of companies, both large and small, mostly in the corporate, mining, and public relations fields.
When required I travel both locally and abroad, adjusting my diary to accommodate my clients' needs. I seldom take leave (luckily my clients do) and do my utmost to be available whenever requested. I have built up a reputation for my personalised and professional approach, a lack of red tape which has plagued this industry, maintain very reasonable rates and have a quick turnaround time for the briefs requested.
I never hesitate to refuse projects which I know I cannot handle, but this seldom happens. On this website you will see examples of my work undertaken over the past few years.
On the occasions when I am not too pressurised with work, I happily spend time on my small farm in Walkerville, South of Johannesburg, growing anything from pumpkins to garlic and a variety of other veggies with varying degrees of success. I continue to involve myself in various local charitable causes when possible and most of my available time with my young son Alister – my best friend, muse and favourite photographic model.

Corporate Portraiture
Corporate portraiture is, and always has been, My Passion!
Should you require photographs of your Executive team, a portrait of your CEO for an urgent press release or any imagery for your Annual Report – without taking up much of your top personnel's valuable time – I'm your man.
Mining and Industrial
Imagery for HR and training, images for Investor Relations presentations or for your SHEQ report.
I have extensive experience in gold, coal, platinum, copper, iron ore and other forms of mining photography. I understand the risks and precautions and, if needs be, get down and dirty in the pit or on the factory floor.
Pets and Families
The great comedian W.C. Fields is credited with the line "Never work with children or animals."
Why not?
It's fun! How much better to record the memories of your life, with better images than those taken with a cell phone at the end of a Selfie Stick.
Socials
Being as unobtrusive as possible, yet still working the room as quickly as possible, I will capture (and create) the smiles of your guests and VIPs at your functions.
Events
From one hour presentations to multi day conferences, I will record every aspect of your event for posterity.
From table settings to cuisine; from the key note address to the presentation of the awards; to the embarrassing pix at the end of the evening which are often best deleted !
Editorial
I have extensive experience and am well known in the media and publishing arena.
I undertake photography for newspapers, magazines and I have shot for many children's educational books. My work has been published many thousands of times over the past two and a half decades, both locally and abroad.
Groups
Groups are never easy.
With the necessity of removing staff members from their workspace, time is of the essence. I take the best shots I can, yet have your staff (with the required smiles) back at work within minutes.
Weddings
I am available for an hour of your special day, or for as long as you require. From the arrival of the make up artist to the last dance, the choice is yours.
No "packages", no complicated sliding scales or expensive add-ons. Just tweak the hours to fit your budget.
Travel
One of the perks of my job, I'm willing to travel to get you the images you require.
My Favourite Subject - My son, Alister
My muse, my life, my little boy. The proudest daddy you will ever find.
